The property has a butterfly garden, trees of great attractiveness for being part of a group of precious woods, trails, areas of reforestation and agricultural development. The lodge is located near one of the entrances to the Corcovado National Park, which make it a perfect lodge to enter the park through Los Patos Station.
The project started by selling a farm in Guácimo, Limón. Then, the owners bought what we know as Agroforestal La Tarde today. Their intention has always been to offer touristic services in the community.

The type of tourism that this lodge focuses on is mainly rural community tourism, but it also presents activities related to cultural tourism.
Agroforestal La Tarde tour. Agroforestal La Tarde offers a one-day tour that includes a visit to its butterfly farm, the project of organic cocoa, and natural reforestation, as well as a journey through a trail in which you can admire the forests and animals of the place.
Visit to the Butterfly. In this tour, the tourists can appreciate different species of butterflies, among them the Morpho (Morpho peleides) that is the most attractive for the visitors. There, people learn all about the life cycle of this complex insect, the laying of the eggs, the caterpillars, and the metamorphosis process. The tourist has the possibility of observing this insect in a relatively open space.
Organic Cacao Project and Natural Reforestation. In this section of the farm, the visitor has the opportunity to know an organic cocoa plantation, from the reproduction in the nursery to the harvest of the fruits. In addition, we visit the natural reforestation project, where we find a good sample of the precious woods that grow in the tropical rain forest.
Walk in the woods. It is also counted, with a path in which you can observe different species of trees of impressive size, such as Zapatero or Pilón (Hieronyma oblonga), Ceibo (Pseudobombax septenatum) and Espavel (Anacardium excelsum), as well as other species of smaller size but of great importance in the ecosystem, which provides home and food to the local fauna.
