Day 1: Puerto Jiménez
Flight from San Jose to Puerto Jimenez. Upon arrival your guide will meet you and then take you to your hotel. Night in Puerto Jimenez. Dinner in town. (D)
Day 2: Puerto Jiménez - Sirena Station Corcovado by Los Patos Trail
After an early breakfast we will travel by car towards Los Patos Station where our trek will begin. Our adventure today will inmerse us in the middle of the most biologically intense rainforest in Costa Rica. Monkeys are very abundant, the four species found in Costa Rica can be observed here: Spider, White-faced, Howler, and Squirrel Monkeys. Large groups of White-nosed Coatis, Pecaries, and small groups of Agouties, and the wonderful Tapir can be seen on the trail as we get deeper in the jungle. The avifuana finds a paradise in this lowland rainforest, raptors as the White Hawk, Great Black Hawk, Mangrove Black Hawk, and King Vultures can be spotted very often, and even the Harpy Eagle has been recently seen, which brings hope of its return to the Osa Peninsula.
This trekking experience is defenitely the finest alternative to truly explore a rainforest. We will be arriving to Sirena Station in the afternoon where we will stay for the next two nights. Dinner. (B,L,D)
Day 3: Corcovado National Park - Sirena Station
Breakfast. A full day to enjoy the rainforest and rivers around Sirena Station. In the morning we will hike towards Claro River admiring the lush vegetation and the abundant wildlife, and then take a swim in the river. Come back to the station for lunch.
Afternoon hike towards Sirena River. This river is quite nice for wildlife, there are crocodiles that rest on the sand banks. A lot of birds are observed along the river, egrets, kingfishers and different species of shore birds. The Sirena River is famous for its sharks, duirng high tie it is possible to see sharks coming into the river mouth for feeding and have them very close to the river´s bank. We will come back to the Station for dinner.
A nocturnal hike can be done, Tapirs and wildcats are very nocturnal, so there is better chance to see them at night. In the mouth of the Sirena River we can see the reflection of the crocodile eyes, and the fishing bats flying over the river, as we hike towards some good spots to find Tapirs. (B,L,D)
Day 4: Sirena Station - Puerto Jiménez by Coastal Trail
Breakfast. Our departure today will depend on ocean tides as we will have to cross the Claro River and Salsipuedes Point, so the day´s schedule will be plan based on low tide. As we hike out of Corcovado we will be moving along the coast where the forest meets the ocean, wildlife is as usual very abundant. Our hike today might last 7-8 hours until we reach Carate, a small community just outside the park. From Carate we will travel by car to Puerto Jimenez where we will spend the night . Dinner. (B,L,D)
Day 5: Puerto Jiménez - San José

Hiking shoes ( waterproof are recommended), rainjacket and rainpants, hat and good sunscreen, camera (200 ISO Film recommended), sunglasses, hiking poles are useful, sandals or shoes for resting time, towel, mosquito net, sheets and pillow case, insect repellent, personal medicines, energy food, daypack, good flashlight with extra batteries. **Pack everything in plastic bags inside your backpack.
